Medical Error Reduction Program

MERP is a real-time, interactive error reduction and process improvement software program specific to radiation oncology. MERP's non-intrusive data collection allows for timely identification of errors, assimilation of information, analysis of risk, and development of action plan. MERP targets processes that need improvement and creates a mechanism for implementing sustainable changes. MERP complies with current Joint Commission standards regarding patient safety. MERP provides a framework for a root cause analysis and action plan in response to a sentinel event, “near miss”, or opportunity for improvement. MERP fulfills all radiation safety state requirements for identification and correction of unintended deviations.
